UCD buys Iontas's Focus IT solution
Iontas, a global provider of business and IT alignment solutions, has announced that its Focus solution has been implemented by University College Dublin.
Caroline Hackman, UCD student services supervisor, said: "Focus allows us to analyse demand for computer resources, both hardware and software, across the university's student open-access labs.
"With this precise knowledge, we can then tailor the applications and services we offer."
Iontas is based in Donegal, with US headquarters in Austin, Texas. Its management products have been adopted by clients such as BT, Conduit Europe and Stream International.
Irish Broadband in €1m sales drive
Internet service provider Irish Broadband yesterday announced the launch of a €1 million marketing campaign for its "plug and play" wireless broadband product.
The product costs €18.95 a month and does not require a phone line.
"Traditional telephone lines are a thing of the past: Irish homes and offices of the future will use wireless technologies to communicate," said Paul Doody, managing director, Irish Broadband.
The campaign, which starts on Monday, will feature television, radio, online and press advertising and will run until the end of the year.
ISA invites award nominations
The Irish Software Association (ISA) is inviting nominations for its annual software awards, which will this year include a new series of recognition awards for outstanding achievement in the industry.
Nominations are due by Monday, October 3rd, and the award ceremony will be held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, on Friday, November 11th.
