Enterprise day aimed at women

Women will be encouraged to set up their own businesses at a conference in Limerick next month. The National Women's Enterprise Day, which aims to promote female entrepreneurship, will take place on November 19th and seeks to address the gender divide that exists when it comes to setting up businesses in Ireland. Men are three times more likely to set up a business than their female counterparts.

The event will introduce women to supports such as those available through the county and city enterprise boards which supported nearly 13,500 female entrepreneurs in 2009.

Tickets cost € 100 each and can be purchased at www.nwed.ie
