Intel this week launched a faster networking chip and announced the creation of a $200 million equity fund. In an effort to move its computer chip dominance beyond boxed computers, Intel unveiled a new line of silicon products, which allows systems designers make networks run swiftly and cost effectively. Based on new Intel Exchange (IX) architecture, the system is designed to create networking and telecommunications equipment based on reprogrammable silicon and open interfaces. The company's goal is to help the networking industry build quicker, intelligent networks.
