Local Ireland, the Internet site focusing on all things Irish, has made the unusual move into more traditional media, with the launch of a new hour-long programme on Anna Livia local radio. According to Local Ireland marketing manager, Mr Emmet Kelly, the move was prompted to allow people with comprehensive Internet expertise bring their experiences to a wider audience.

Hyperlink, which will be broadcast at 6.30 p.m. on Mondays, was devised by Local Ireland employee, Mr Robbie Sloane. All of the presenters on the programme are Local Ireland employees specialising in their particular fields. It is designed to target people who have little Internet experience. Features of the programme include a web doctor available to answer all Internet questions; a celebrity interview; a best sites slot; and a quirky or weird sites slot.

The programme can also be listened to on the Internet at www.local.ie.
