Temple Bar in Dublin will witness an unusual Irish-Icelandic collaboration tomorrow when a special benefit concert is broadcast live over the Internet. The benefit, which takes place at Temple Bar Music Centre, will join four young Irish bands, Aqualung, Coade, Mixtwitch and Bloom with Icelandic chart toppers, Bellatrix, to raise awareness of the devastation Hurricane Mitch has wreaked on the people of Honduras and Nicaragua. Located at www.treasureisland.ie, viewers will be able to contribute through online payments directly to Trocaire and the Icelandic Red Cross Hurricane Mitch appeal. The concert will be the high point of a whistlestop shopping visit to Ireland by 940 Icelanders flown to Dublin by Icelandic tour operators, Samvinn. The event will remain on the Internet for charitable contributions until next Easter, as part of an ongoing effort to raise finance for Central America.
