Irish International has won the Advertising Agency of the Year award. The firm took the award for the third time in nine years, beating 13 other agencies. DDFH&B and CDP Associates were joint finalists.
Irish International enjoyed strong growth in 1999 with billings up by 27 per cent to £42 million (€53 million) from £33 million. Last year, the agency won the Telecom Eireann flotation and the account to handle the Millennium Festivals' Committee, Dell, the Department of the Environment, NI Electricity and the Blood Transfusion Service Board. The award was introduced in 1991 by Marketing magazine. The sponsors include Gilbeys, Guinness Ireland Group, the Conrad International and Waterford Crystal.
