Japan's Matsushita Electric Industrial Co reported its first ever quarterly loss on Tuesday after slowing global demand for high-tech goods took a toll on the world's biggest consumer electronics maker.
Matsushita, known for its Panasonic and National brands, posted a $309.2 million (#353.5 million) consolidated operating loss in the April-June quarter.
Sales slid by 5.6 per cent to $13.35 billion.
