Mr Jan Gesmar Larsen, the man who has represented Dell Computer in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) until now is taking extended family leave and stepping down from his position. He will be replaced by Mr John J. Legere, president of Dell's Asia-Pacific region. Mr Legere will take over responsibility for the EMEA region in the autumn, and continue to have executive responsibility for the Asia Pacific region until a successor is named.

Mr Larsen will be assisting Mr Legere with the transition to his new role for the next couple of months. Mr Legere joined Dell last year, and is credited with being central to Dell's growth in the Asia-Pacific region, where its operations have grown seven times faster than the industry rate.
