CHANGE IS afoot at PR agency Gibney Communications. Founder Ita Gibney has appointed Donnchadh O’Neill as deputy managing director, a new role at the group.
O’Neill, a former RTÉ radio producer, has been with Gibney since 2005.
She has also hired Mark Leech, formerly of Q4 and Murray Consultants and, more recently, co-founder of car parts retailer Micksgarage.ie, as an account director.
Gibney recently won new accounts with McCabe’s Pharmacy and internet company AOL. Other clients include German discounter Aldi, Dublin Port and Ulster Bank.
FORMER MINISTERIAL press adviser Liam Reid will next week take up a new role as head of public affairs and corporate communications at drinks giant Diageo.
Reid, a former journalist and once of this parish, advised former minister for the environment John Gormley from 2007 until the recent changing of the guard.

IS THE recession affecting Michael O’Leary’s attempts to sell his 2007-reg Mercedes CL-Class?
In January, reports said the Ryanair boss was looking for €70,000 for the “immaculately maintained car”. The automatic with a 5.5 litre petrol engine and 36,500 on the clock is for sale on Carzone.ie for €50,000.
The taxi plate is not included in the price.
