DUBLIN-BASED Cityjet’s new boss has pledged to return it to profit within two years.
In her first interview since taking the controls recently, Christine Ourmieres, a former country manager with CityJet’s parent Air France, told Air and Business Travel News that the 2007 acquisition of Belgian carrier VLM left some processes within the business slightly fragmented. But she said it had been an important step for the airline’s growth. “The airline’s revenue has been strong over the recession, but we must now look for opportunities to make the business more efficient,” she said.
“The goal is to return the airline to profit by the end of the 2011/2012 financial year. There are signs that we are already on the way to achieving our objective.”
