The offer by IWP International, the household products and distribution group, for Jeyes has closed. IWP had received acceptances from shareholders representing more than 96 per cent of the equity and the outstanding shares are now to be compulsorily acquired.

The acquisition makes IWP a significant player in the branded household products market in Europe. It gives IWP control of well-known household brand names such as Bloo toilet flush and Parazone bleach as well as Jeyes Fluid. Turnover of the enlarged group will be approaching £400 million.
