Smurfit chief’s remuneration hit €5.3 million in 2013

Anual report reveals Gary McGann earned €2.8m as part of three-year incentive plan

Gary McGann, the chief executive of Smurfit Kappa, had a total remuneration package of €5.3 million in 2013, according to the paper and packaging company's annual report.

Under a three-year long term executive incentive plan, Mr McGann earned €2.8 million on top of his individual remuneration package of €2.5 million.

Tony Smurfit, group chief operations officer, was paid €3.5 million, including €1.9 million paid out under the long-term incentive plan.

Ian Curley, chief financial officer, was paid €3 million, which includes an additional €1.7 million under the plan.
