German shares ended bourse trade flat after early gains on the back of a firmer close in Hong Kong, but traders said confidence was fragile after recent Asian turmoil and concerns over Latin America. Further turmoil could be in store, dealers warned.
Paris CAC-40: 2739.30 (-0.17)
Share prices were virtually unchanged but came under some late pressure as an early surge on Wall Street petered out towards the close of European markets. The fall on the Paris market over the week has been 3.8 per cent, but France Telecom remained buoyant.
