Wall Street stocks dipped yesterday after taking a cue from falling bonds following an unexpected rise in US producer prices set off inflation jitters. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 16.21 points to 8,045.21. Declines outnumbered advances by a 7-to-6 margin on the New York Stock Exchange, with 1,311 up, 1,552 down and 536 unchanged.
NYSE volume totalled 499.70 million shares, against 549.79 million in the previous session.
The Standard and Poor's 500stock list fell 3.64 to 966.98, and the NYSE composite index fell 1.31 to 506.85.
