Eighty new jobs are to be created in Ballina, Co Mayo, by electronics company, Dekko Heating Technologies, the Tanaiste, Ms Harney, has announced. The project is worth more than £2 million (€2.54 million) and 60 jobs will be created in its first year of operations. DHT will locate its European manufacturing facility in the Ballina factory and will carry out injection moulding, assembly and testing for its products.
DHT designs, develops and manufactures electronic heating devices for a range of secondary products. A privately owned company based in Indiana in the US, it has received assistance from the IDA for the project. It plans to support its existing operations in Europe and increase its share of the market by winning business from new air-care and appliance manufacturers.
Recruitment will begin immediately for the 24,000 sq ft advance factory.
