ELECTRIC MEDIA, the biggest company in the Irish online advertising sales market, has formed a new partnership with the world’s largest video ad network, BrightRoll.

Dermot Hanrahan, chief executive of Electric Media, said the deal with BrightRoll would add to the services it offers clients in the Irish digital advertising market.

“Video-on-demand or VOD will see high ad revenue growth over the next year and we are delighted to add BrightRoll to our VOD line-up along with Entertainment.ie and TV3’s 3Player,” Mr Hanrahan said.

“This partnership means over seven million streams per month will now be accessible to Irish advertisers,” he added.

Electric Media, in which The Irish Timeshas a stake, became the biggest player in the Irish online advertising market last year when it acquired the online and mobile assets previously run by Sales Online. Its sales network covers 66 premium web sites in Ireland and some 20 smartphone apps.

BrightRoll, a privately held company headquartered in San Francisco, California, last week announced that it had closed a $30 million funding round after a year in which video advertising increased faster than any other online ad format.

The company is backed by venture capital firms including Trident Capital, True Ventures, Scale Venture Partners and Adams Street Partners.
