The Millennium Dome continues to cause controversy. Treasury Holdings is planning a multimillion pound development on land surrounding it.
Now London mayor Ken Livingstone has threatened to use his legal powers to prevent Legacy, the company developing the site, in which Treasury has an 80 per cent stake, unless it includes a significant amount of low-cost housing. And Michael Heseltine, the former deputy prime minister has called for the sale of the Dome's contents to be delayed until the Legacy deal is completed.
The contents include giant model pubic lice, a heart weighing half a tonne and an animated brain with the voice of legendary comedian Tommy Cooper. The Margin reckons this is one sale Treasury may approach with some caution.
