The AIM-listed exploration group Minco has made a second zinc discovery at its Pallas Green prospect in Co Limerick. A stepout drill hole has now begun 100 metres from this latest discovery at Gortavalla which assayed 10.4 per cent zinc over a 1.5 metre width. The zinc mineralisation was found at a depth of 295.4 metres.
This find is 500 metres away from the initial discovery in the Castlegarge townland and may indicate the presence of a cluster of massive sulphide lenses in the area. Two other drill rigs are testing targets for Minco in the Pallas Green area.
