Technofile: Mio, which makes GPS devices, has launched the H610 aimed, somewhat heavy-handedly, at women. How do we know this girls? Well, it's got flowers on it. But wait, there's more. Mio says it's small enough to fit into a handbags.
However, even if you are a guy who just happens to like prettified gadgets, there is something for all genders here, with interchangeable covers, a 2.7-inch touchscreen and 24 pre-loaded maps of European countries.
The WorldMate software provides information on weather, currency conversion, measurements, dialling codes and clothing size conversions, not to mention games, a media player and 1GB of space for photos, MP3s or movies.

l As Google gradually takes over the planet (you can now work on spreadsheets, word process as well as email and search via the web giant), it is slowly invading the mobile world as well. You can even use Google maps on you mobile if you are so inclined.
Now an enterprising firm has come up with a way to synchronise your mobile or PDA with Google's Calendar.
The GooSync software is in "beta" trial but, since it is free, it is worth trying out if you have been trying to juggle a Google calendar with another on your mobile device. See Goosync.com
l Speaking of mobiles, the ubiquitous online video site YouTube is also planning to merge with the mobile, according to co-founder Chad Hurley.
Flush with the cash from its recent sale to Google, the next step of being able to send video direct from your mobile to YouTube - for the ultimate delectation of millions of people - seems like an obvious one.
But if you happen to be drug-addled celebrity or an MP with a dark secret, be afraid, be very afraid...
l If James Bond had a need to store a lot of data next to his Beretta pistol, he'd no doubt be using the new branded special edition Micro Vault USB drive from Sony.
This comes pre-loaded with the trailer for the new Bond film, Casino Royale, and four wallpapers for your PC from the film.
Better still, it includes a Virtual Expander program that compresses some files to increase the storage size by up to three times.
The drive comes in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB sizes and all are in the trade-mark Bond black. It should be out in the shops this month to tie in with the movie.
l A new site is promising a free application for the Mac every day leading up to Christmas. Sounds too good to be true? Perhaps but it may be worth checking out. Each application will be worth at least $10 (€7), which means you won't be getting Photoshop on this site. But the kick-back for the developers offering their wares through the site is publicity, potentially many more users of their software and encouraging further sales in the future.
The giveaway starts on December 1st at Macappaday.com
