Government support for the Irish music industry similar to that given to the software and financial services sector could further boost the economy.
Speaking at the "Business of Music" seminar organised by IBEC yesterday, Mr Shay Hennessy, chairman of the Irish Music Rights Organisation, said: "The music industry employs 10,000 people in this country and generates revenue of £160 million per annum. For that reason, it merits greater support from the Government."
