The National Gallery on Merrion Square in Dublin has made the information on its touch-screen visitor computers available on CD-ROM. not to worry now you can sweep away those Philistine blues with the new CD-ROM from the National Gallery. It brings you on a virtual tour of the gallery, taking in more than 100 of its beautiful works of art, from the Caravaggio to Jack B Yeats. Users can access information on each artist, find out the history of the paintings, and even zoom in on certain parts of a work of art.
The CD-ROM was designed by IBM, which is also working with the gallery on a worldwide Web site, to be unveiled next spring. It is available in the gallery shop at £15.
