Irish Internet Service Provider (ISP), Indigo, has contracted Network Appliance's Filer products to support its new back office billing system as part of a £1 million project. Indigo has already invested £100,000 on Network Appliance storage devices. It uses the products for Web caching, mail storage and news group storage. In total Indigo has over 600 gigabites of data stored on Network Appliance products.
Indigo says Network Appliance has now become a key part of its strategy for growth, as it provides the backbone of its enterprise storage needs. Network Appliance supports all major operating systems, including Unix, Windows NT and the World Wide Web.
Welcoming the new contract, Mr David Byrne, Network Appliance country manager, said: "Indigo has expanded by over 25,000 new users in the last 10 weeks and the modular, scaleable nature of our products has helped them achieve this. To add more storage, all Indigo need to do is insert more disks, as our systems will easily scale up to 1.5 terabytes."
