A new group chief executive role has been created by the bloodstock group Robert J Goff, and has been filled by Mr Oliver O'Reilly, who will concentrate on the company's overall interests, according to a spokesman.

The board is also considering a successor to the outgoing chairman, Dr Michael Dargan, and has expressed its "intention to focus on a person of stature in bloodstock affairs as well as in general business".
