UP to 60 new jobs are to be created when the Irish-owned fast food chain Supermacs opens its first branch in Co Monaghan next spring.

The £275,000 transformation of a former Main Street pub in Carrickmacross will entail the renovation of three storeys of the building into a basement storage area, a ground floor service area and a first floor seating area. The new 5,500 sq ft restaurant is expected to open in late April or early May.
