As mobile phone usage rapidly increases, Nokia has moved to relieve busy executives of calls which may not be a priority. The company's new mobile phone allows users to select which calls they want to take via a call management system.

The Nokia 6100 series, which goes on sale early next year, can be set to receive calls only from priority numbers - all others are diverted to answer phone services.

A "Lock Out" survey conducted for Nokia, found that unwanted lovers - at 44 per cent - topped the list of casual acquaintances whose calls would be blocked. The boss was next to be snubbed at 19 per cent, followed by the bank manager at 13 per cent.

Of those who would make the priority calling list, children, partners and best friends topped the poll.

The 6100 also includes a "stress busting" feature in the shape of computer game entertainment.
