Minister for Justice Alan Shatter has appointed solicitor Rowena Mulcahy to the post of Taxing Master. The vacancy arises following the retirement of one of the two Taxing Masters, James Flynn, on December 21st last.
The Taxing Master adjudicates disputed legal costs, generally when costs are awarded by a court against the losing side.
Ms Mulcahy, a partner in Mulcahy Robinson Solicitors served as the deputy chair of the board of management of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London and is former chair of its Irish branch.
