Ebid.ie is to introduce a WAP-based auction service in an alliance with Siemens from August of this year.

The service, which will be hosted by Eircell, will complement the existing service by allowing mobile users to join in the bidding and listing.

Mr Conor Jones, chief executive officer of ebid.ie, said the company chose to partner with Siemens because of the work the company had done on WAP-enabled auctions in South Africa.
