Is this a record? That Ryanair's Michael O'Leary is a jeans and open-collared shirt man is no secret, but the Margin detected a pronounced change of gear last Wednesday when the airline boss made a presentation on his proposals for Dublin Airport to the Dail Select Committee on Public Enterprise and Transport.
In keeping with Oireachtas tradition, O'Leary arrived on Kildare Street sporting not just a suave navy suit, but a gleaming white shirt and a fancy red tie. Though optional at these affairs, cuff-links were seen too. The Margin, which generally shirks conspiracy theories, has a strong suspicion that O'Leary was informed beforehand of the preferred dress around the Dail. Tony Gregory take note!
