Lancefort, the limited company formed by a number of conservationists, has lodged an objection to the development by The Irish Times of the former Irish Press building on Burgh Quay, in Dublin.
Dublin Corporation has already granted planning permission for the development and the issue will now go before An Bord Pleanala.
An Taisce and Dublin Corporation had expressed concerns about the original plans for the site, which includes a Georgian building at number 13 Burgh Quay. Revised plans which retained the facade of the building were then approved for planning permission.
However Lancefort has objected to the revised plans and wants other sections of Number 13 to be retained.
The administration, editorial and sales divisions of The Irish Times are to be moved to the Burgh Quay building when it is completed, leaving the printing operation in its current location on Fleet Street.
