Three world class cinematographers including two Oscar winners have been enlisted to run a five-week course in camera work and lighting for experienced camera assistants who aspire to becoming cinematographers.

The tutors include Walter Lasally, who won an Oscar for his work on Zorba the Greek, Billy Williams who won an Oscar for his worker on Gandhi and Billy Williams, who has been cinematographer on films including Dracula and Judge Dredd.

The course, which is being run in association with the University of California, is operated by Screen Training Ireland-FAS, a joint initiative between the Government and the audio-visual industry.
