Paddypower.com, the Dublin-based online betting operation, achieved a 30 per cent increase in account registrations in the three months to March 20th, 2001.

The company said 6,515 of the more than 16,000 registered accounts had been used during the period. Turnover in the online operation has been adversely affected by the foot-and-mouth crisis but not to the same extent as the traditional businesses, the company said in a statement.
