W & G Baird, the Antrim-based printing and publishing group, has increased pre-profits by 17 per cent to £2.7 million in 1997. Sales grew by 7 per cent to £34 million.

The profit growth would have been better but for the adverse currency swing of £387,000 according to chairman, Mr Roy Bailie.
