Qualceram, the Arklow-based manufacturer of bathroom suites, has acquired the former Arklow Pottery premises, adjacent to its existing plant, for £300,000. Arklow Pottery ceased production last April and the 178,000 sq ft premises has been vacant since then. The additional capacity was purchased from the Japanese ceramics group, Noritake, which owned Arklow Pottery. Noritake's other adjoining building was acquired by Qualceram last December.
