Driven by the energetic and charismatic Michael O'Leary, Ryanair has shrugged off any damage to its image caused by the messy dispute involving baggage handling staff at Dublin Airport in the eyes of the financial community and is set to report strong figures in its first year as a public company. Strong revenue and profit growth in each of the first three quarters - driven by the company's ambitious expansion into continental Europe - have led analysts to pencil in pre-tax profits for the year of anywhere up to £37 million when the group reports on Wednesday. At the upper end, that would translate into a rise of close to 60 per cent over last year.
