ITS CLIENT Ryanair might have lost another legal spat this week with the Dublin Airport Authority, but public relations firm Murray Consultants enjoyed better luck at the RDS on Tuesday night when pitted head to head against the airport manager.
Murray, a long-time adviser to Ryanair, pipped the authority to the post in the Business Journalists Association's annual quiz in aid of the Dublin Simon Community, which saw 33 of Ireland's biggest companies and a similar number of leading journalists attend.
Murray's success was even more impressive given that its founders Joe Murray and Jim Milton and managing director Pat Walsh were unavailable.
Some of the major banks and their trade body, the Irish Banking Federation, defied the credit crunch to support the event, while Irish Life Investment Managers was the sponsor.
The night provided a welcome respite to the doom and gloom hanging over the country.
Dublin Simon should be €45-50,000 better off - not bad seeing as we're in the middle of a recession and the biggest financial crisis in almost 80 years.
