Frankfurt Dax 2489.09 (+3.22)
The German share market ended higher yesterday as firm German debt markets and the stable dollar helped offset a lower close on Wall Street on Friday. Traders described the market as thin and very selective, without the gumption to break above the psychologically key 2,500 point level.
Paris CAC-40 2055.63 (+10.86)
French shares yesterday closed at their highest level since August 31st, 1994, underpinned by a strong franc, a higher dollar and firm US markets.
Dealers said investors were a bit prudent to take positions at current levels due to the pending Easter holidays.
Milan Mibtel 9311 (+98)
Italian shares ended easier in lacklustre trading yesterday undermined by political worries that no clear leader is emerging from the two main competing political blocs in the run up to the April 21st general election.
Stocks chose to largely ignore firmer domestic bonds, the lira and the better start to Wall Street.
