Having tried his luck with some success in aviation, maritime telecoms, media and real estate, Clare-born entrepreneur Dómhnal Slattery has now decided to turn his hand to the music business.
Slattery recently formed Savi Entertainment to give a leg up to new talent in the music industry in Ireland.
The plan is to provide capital for the bands to record their music, and then find a record company to market and distribute the finished article.
"We're enabling the little guy," Slattery said.
Savi's chief executive is Northerner Thomas Black, a music industry veteran and judge on RTÉ's You're a Star TV talent show.
The company is based in the Oval building in Ballsbridge, Dublin, where Slattery's other ventures have their home.
The first band to sign on for the concept is Travega, an Irish rock band.
Back in his day Slattery, who is now 40 and worth several million euro, worked with then pirate radio forerunner of Galway Bay FM and as a DJ at discos to help pay his way through university.
Later this year the high-flying executive hopes to team up with Travega to record an album of his top 10 favourite songs.
Rock on.
