Sun Microsystems, Hitachi, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Hitachi Data Systems, have entered into a comprehensive storage agreement.

Sun and Hitachi Data Systems will cross-license and distribute each other's storage software, collaborate on the development of the software and work on expanding integration capabilities worldwide.

Sun has also signed a distributor agreement for certain high-end Hitachi Data Systems products.
