SolarPrint links up with Fiat in solar panel scheme
Irish green tech company SolarPrint has entered a partnership with Italian car manufacturer Fiat to develop solar panels that can be incorporated into the roof surface of cars.
SolarPrint will be a part of an international consortium working with Fiat’s RD arm to develop a “smart roof” which will incorporate solar cells and lithium batteries which can be used to power on-board devices in cars. The consortium working on the €3 million project also includes University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin and Imperial College in the UK.
Warburton is new CEO of DoneDeal.ie
Online classified ads website DoneDeal.ie has appointed of John Warburton as chief operating officer.
The move comes after DoneDeal.ie’s most successful period in business; in May it recorded over one million unique visitors with an average of 40,000 new items advertised each month. The figures are based on an independent audit by website metrics company IrelandMetrix.
Curtis to oversee digital switchover
RTÉ has appointed Mary Curtis as director of digital switchover to oversee the transition to the new Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) system over the next two years.
Her role will be to ensure the public is encouraged to move to the DTT infrastructure being rolled out across by RTÉNL.
Under European legislation, the analogue TV signal will be turned off by the end of 2012.
