Every week a new app arrives offering more ways for you to surrender your privacy. Some of my friends, especially those on FourSquare, document and share every meal, every step they take and every notion. Heyday is a self-described "private journal that writes itself". It's not only a stylish, intuitive app, but it doesn't latch on to your social networks if you don't want it to. The app synchronises your device's pictures with a calendar and tracks where you go, so without lifting a finger you have a journal that places your pictures and videos in context and chorological order, even reminding you of anniversaries of events. When you open the app it goes through sweet picture montages from random days. Like the best-kept journals, it's user-friendly and reminds you of the (usually non-monetary) gifts life has given you. Yes, the location tracking can drain the battery, and retrospectively assigning a location is a little fiddly, but overall this is an elegant, very user-friendly way to keep a private journal of your life. hey.co
