There's something cosy, about a long-running franchise. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is not without its problems, but its trademarks are comforting; the eye-patch, the mullet and the cartoon exclamation mark when you've been rumbled. Building on the series' dense mythology, MGS V: GZ is an immensely enjoyable, (somewhat) open-world stealth game. Stalking enemies, exploring, and even interrogating is great fun, as is the entertaining - if convoluted - story. This hide and seek game is very playable, even for clumsy gamers, thanks in no small part to hilariously incompetent guards. The game-play is fantastic and it is a cut-price title, but gamers should be aware that they'll likely clear the main campaign in less than two hours. Even with the side-missions, it still doesn't add to great value. It's great while it lasts, but this MGS feels less like a full game experience, and more like a tantalising, extended prologue to the next instalment. konami.com
