COMMUNICATIONS SOFTWARE firm Jinny Software put in a record performance in 2010, increasing its revenues by 62 per cent and returning to profit.

The company, which supplies messaging, call completion and mobile advertising solutions to wireless carriers, said it grew its order book by 96 per cent as it responded to tough market conditions in 2009 by moving into new markets and expanding existing markets.

As a result, Jinny said consolidated revenues grew to €16.34 million, while earnings before interest, tax depreciation and amortisation came to €1.75 million.

New customers in America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East helped boost the firm last year, including several deals in the mobile virtual network operator market.

These agreements included deals with US-based mobile data solutions provider ClearSky and start-up US CDMA carrier SI Wireless. Jinny’s technology is also being used in a mobile virtual network environment built by Aspider Solutions, and Canadian firm EastLink has agreed to use Jinny’s next-generation messaging solutions in a new mobile service it is currently developing.

Dublin-headquartered Jinny is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acotel Group, which trades on the Milan stock market. The company has operations in Brazil, Kenya, UAE, Panama and Malaysia.

Jinny also reported a strong start to 2011.
