The Last Guardian was starting to feel like a bit of a unicorn. Announced in 2009, it had a release date of 2011 for the PlayStation 3…that came and went without a sign of the game. Designer Fumito Ueda left Sony as a full-time employee in 2011, although he was still said to be a consultant on the project. Hit by setbacks and delays, we started to think we'd never see it. Until Sony's E3 press conference when the company revealed that not only was the Last Guardian coming to PlayStation 4, but it now has a 2016 release date. Let's hope it actually makes it this time.
In the meantime, here’s the E3 reveal.
