Xbox Music
While there is plenty of streaming music services out there, many – such as Google Music, Pandora and Spotify – are not available in Ireland. The recently launched Xbox Music is a good alternative. It works across Microsoft devices including the Xbox 360, Windows 8 PCs and tablets and the newly arrived batch of Windows Phone 8 handsets while syncing across all of these. There is the option to stream or download and the streaming service comes free with Windows RT tablets. Its Smart DJ option recommends music you may like.

JiggyApe
This is another handy music plug-in for YouTube via the Chrome web browser.
With JiggyApe you can create a personal playlist of YouTube videos and if you’re stuck for music it also generates suggestions based on songs you’ve already added or searched for.
The playlist can be linked to or shared on Facebook and once you have your list built it can be slapped on full screen mode and left to play.
Ideal for a party as you won’t have to keep coming back to YouTube to add more music.

Seevl
Most teens consume their online music through YouTube. It’s free, easily accessible and, basically, this generation’s MTV. Seevl is a neat extension that enhances YouTube for music lovers by giving personalised recommendations and an artist profile in a menu to the right of the video playing. There is also the option to follow friends also using Seevl on YouTube and see what music they have been listening to or connecting to Facebook to share your recent music videos with your friends there. An essential YouTube plug-in for any music fan.
