A dispute over union recognition at the Monaghan-based company, IJM Timber Engineering, has been resolved. The management at the company has agreed to recognise the union involved, the Building and Allied Traders Union (BATU) and production at the plant will resume on Monday.
Management at the company, which makes timber framed buildings, said the main reason for reversing its earlier decision not to recognise the union was that it could no "longer afford not to be in production".
