Aer Lingus and Jet Blue aim to take the hassle out of flying by cutting connection times between flights in and out of New York's JFK airport.
Aer Lingus this week moved out of Terminal 4 at the airport and into Jet Blue’s Terminal 5, which will allow people flying Aer Lingus to the US to transfer to another flight in an hour, with baggage automatically checked through to the destination.
Flyers from the US to Ireland will have flight connection times as fast as 40 minutes.
Aer Lingus said customers connecting to one of JetBlue’s many destinations across the US will benefit from same terminal connections, one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in for travel on both airlines, from the US to Europe.
It is known as JetBlue’s Terminal 5 but Aer Lingus will have a dedicated area in the terminal. The airline is the first foreign carrier to join Jet Blue in Terminal 5.
Aer Lingus flies twice daily to JFK from Dublin and three times a week from Shannon.
