University College Cork is offering a new masters degree aimed at public service employees and people in the private and voluntary sectors who interact with the public sector.
The Masters in Communications in the Department of Public Administration is open to all graduates, though in certain circumstances those without a degree but with an outstanding career record will also be considered.
Much of the course will be delivered via the Internet both as a training tool and as a means to facilitate remote access. The Internet service will accommodate a seminar series, course reading materials, a discussion list, submissions of written work and individual supervision sessions. Primarily a research-based postgraduate degree, it aims to allow students apply theoretical themes, like public management, policy network analysis, and public administration to case studies from across the public and voluntary sectors.
