One of the world's oldest specialist recruitment firms, Harrison Willis, has opened an office in Dublin

One of the world's oldest specialist recruitment firms, Harrison Willis, has opened an office in Dublin. The office is the company's first outside Britain and is described as a "significant" move.

The general manager of the office will be Ms Rebecca Longley, who is returning to Ireland after working for 10 years in publishing and recruitment in London.

The company will be based at Upper Merrion Street for the first few months before moving to a permanent office.

Cooley Distillery has appointed Mr Fergus Wallace, as marketing manager to work on its Kilbeggan, Lockes and Tyrconnell whiskey brands.

Compufast Software have announced the appointment of a new marketing executive, Mr Jason O'Connor. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of payroll software.

Mr Des Richardson, has been appointed to the board of Aer Lingus by the Minister for Public Enterprise, Mrs O'Rourke.

Mr Richardson had been chief fund-raiser for Fianna Fail.

Irish Ispat, formerly known as Irish Steel, has appointed, Mr Jerry Gorman, as its new chief executive with immediate effect.
