THE Margin was intrigued by the news that the international courier company UPS is going to offer cargo class flights for passengers.
From this weekend, UPS will be offering American travellers the opportunity to be airfreighted around North America. No, the passengers won't be in containers and won't enter the planes through the cargo bay - UPS has what are known as QC planes (quick change planes) which means that seats can be installed in the cargo planes.
Maybe some of the Irish airlines might contemplate doing the same; then again it sometimes feels like a number of them already have a cargo class for passengers.
