The trade mission to the Republic and Northern Ireland led by the US Commerce Secretary, Mr William Daley, concluded yesterday with a meeting between him and the Taoiseach.
Mr Ahern said Mr Daley's visit "is a further strong signal of the continuing support of President Clinton for our efforts to build a lasting and stable peace".
The US delegation visited Belfast, Derry, Sligo and Dublin. Almost 400 new jobs were announced in the North during the mission and Mr Daley said many of the companies involved were impressed by the potential opportunities for investment in the Border area.
